Pre-Arrival Information for International Students

We look forward to welcoming you to the United Kingdom and supporting you in your educational journey. This document provides essential pre-arrival information for all international students who have accepted an offer to study with us.

1. Course Acceptance and Documentation

Upon accepting your course offer, you will receive:

  • An official offer letter
  • Confirmation of Acceptance for Studies (if applicable)
  • Information on your course start date, duration, and induction schedule

Ensure you bring all original academic documents, passport, and visa documents for enrolment.

2. Course Details

  • Courses are delivered face-to-face and may include some blended learning activities
  • Course timetables and modules will be shared during induction week
  • Full details will be published on the college website prior to enrolment

3. Living Costs

Living costs in Birmingham (monthly estimates):

  • Accommodation: £400–£700
  • Food and groceries: £150–£250
  • Transport: £50–£80 (with student discounts)
  • Miscellaneous: £50–£100

Ensure you have access to sufficient funds before arriving.

4. Accommodation

EELITE EDUCATION HUB does not provide on-campus accommodation. Students are advised to:

  • Use trusted platforms such as SpareRoom, Rightmove, or Zoopla
  • Choose locations with good public transport links
  • Contact the college if guidance is needed in securing housing

5. Travel Cards and Transportation

  • International students can apply for a 16-25 Railcard or a local West Midlands Network Student Card for discounted travel
  • Oyster and contactless cards are available for London travel if visiting
  • Buses, trains, and trams serve the Birmingham area regularly

6. NHS Registration

  • Students staying for more than 6 months must pay the Immigration Health Surcharge (IHS) and can then access NHS services
  • Register with a local GP (doctor) upon arrival by using your UK address

7. Police Registration

  • Some students (depending on nationality and visa conditions) may be required to register with the police within 7 days of arrival
  • This can be done at the local police station; guidance will be provided during induction
